Yang joined the team last week and is reporting to Amy Peng, chief strategy officer of UM Beijing. His appointment follows that of Van Zhang who joined the company last December as national tactical planning director.

Yang brings to UM China extensive experience in senior media management client servicing. Most recently, he worked for Dentsu Beijing for four years and he has also spent 12 years with Grey.

Yang has managed over 50 local and international client accounts during his 17 years of agency experience, including well-known brands like Wyeth, Volkswagen, Danone, Wrigley, Avon, Lenovo, China Unicom, China CITIC Bank, Baidu, Master Kong, HKTB, and Mentholatum.

Bank of China, Founders Group and Microsoft are some of the key accounts handled by UM's Beijing office.

Reported last week, Lisa Wei, COO of UM China, departed from the agency after less than nine months to take up the chief investment officer role at Aegis Media China.
