Levi's hires Dattatreya Gupta for digital marketing division

SINGAPORE - Levi Strauss has hired Dattatreya Gupta as senior manager of digital marketing for Asia-Pacific and South Africa.

Gupta will focus on online and mobile domains regionally, as well as leading marketing initiatives for Levi's e-commerce platform. The scope of his new role will also include Integrating retail marketing with Levi's digital capabilities.

Gupta's first immediate assignment is to target female consumers for the upcoming Fall season. Gupta will report directly to Shumone Chatterjee, vice president of Levi's Marketing.

Gupta moves to Levi's from Yahoo, where he was most recently the network marketing manager and network optimisation and analystic manager for Southeast Asia. In this role at Yahoo, he also oversaw emerging markets in India, Middle East and Latin America.

Gupta also previously worked agency side at XM Asia and Creative Technology. His client experiences include stints with Nokia, HP, Chanel and BBC World.
