The agency won the overall operation project for the Information & Communication Pavillion (ICP) at the Shanghai Expo, after a six-month pitch against a number of event agencies including Pico, International Venue Group (IVG) and a local agency. The final round of the pitch took place last November.

Fanny Weng, public affairs director of Publicis Dialog, said the agency's strong local event experience, including operating the Samsung Olympic Torch Relay and the Coca-Cola Shuang Experience Center at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and partnership with US event management company Profun on events including the 2000 Hanover World Expo and 1986 Vancover World Expo helped win the account.

Occupying a building area of 6,200 square meters, the ICP is one of biggest enterprise pavilions at the Shanghai Expo. It is also the joint pavilion for China Mobile and China Telecom.

In addition to this new win, Publicis Groupe has been particularly active working for the organiser, individual pavilions and sponsors for the Shanghai World Expo.

Publicis Consultants, the corporate arm of Publicis, is the official PR provider of the Expo. The agency is working for event and individual pavilion sponsors including L'Oreal, GDF Suez, Sanofi Aventis, among others.

They have also created a specific Publicis task force, a blog and a weekly radio programme promoting the Expo.
