Nicolas Bidon, global chief executive of WPP Media’s Nexus, has departed.

In a post on LinkedIn, Bidon said: “I have decided to leave the business to focus on my family and passions, before exploring a new and exciting chapter.”

Bidon had been in his post at Nexus since April 2022.

He joined WPP in 2012, as managing director of Xaxis, and before that held roles at Yahoo and Watchfire.

Initially reported by AdAge, an internal memo sent by WPP Media's chief executive, Brian Lesser, said: “Nicolas has been a stalwart and effective leader for our business over the last 12 years, and I’d like to thank him for his many contributions to innovation, transformation and growth over that period, first with Xaxis and most recently Group M Nexus.”

Bidon's departure follows a restructure at WPP, with staff being told about redundnacies this month. Lesser previously announced that the media arm "needed to be simpler".

It has not yet been announced who will lead this department.

Campaign has approached WPP for further comment.
