PEOPLE MOVES

Confirmit appointed Jason Mallia as country manager in Australia and New Zealand. He joins from Informatica, where he was regional sales director.

GroupM has appointed Chung Youngoo (Jason Chung) as CEO in Korea. (Read more)

Blis launched a Jakarta office and appointed Quenten Smith, previously country lead for CtrlShift Indonesia, as agency group head.

Lion & Lion opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City and hired Ben Waters as managing director. He was formerly managing director at CigElectric.

PayPro appointed Willy Tan as chief strategy and transformation officer in Indonesia.

ABN Impact appointed Miranda Cheung, most recently chief client officer with Ipsos for Asia Pacific, as director in Singapore.

Vonage appointed Sunny Rao as vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific, to lead the company's entry into China and APAC expansion.

m/SIX appointed Ali Haider, previously business manager at Mindshare, as its business director.

MullenLowe Profero appointed Alex Lee as user experience director. He has worked as a consultant for SapientNitro, R/GA, Razorfish and Proximity and will work with clients including Harley Davidson,100PLUS, Millennium and Peninsula Hotels.

The Hoffman Agency appointed Marc Sparrow as general manager in Hong Kong. He previously led Golin Hong Kong’s technology and business-to-business practice for four-and-a-half years.

Viacom International Media Networks appointed Peter Giakoumelos as vice president of advertising sales for Southeast Asia. Most recently, he was with Turner Broadcasting and Imagine Group Entertainment as head of sales for Asia Pacific at both organizations.

Adrian Toy, regional marketing director for APAC at Puma based in Hong Kong, has left the brand after six years, as the company is tipped to be relocating its regional marketing team to China.

PHD has hired former Twitter country head Roy Simangunsong to take up the newly created post of managing director in Indonesia. (Read more)

Bold Media has added MullenLowe APAC to its existing scope of work with MullenLowe Profero and is expanding its Sydney operations and opening a Singapore office. The agency has hired Oliver Budgen as head of Asia to lead the Singapore operations, and Emilie Sharp in Sydney as account executive.

Edelman appointed Joanna Poulton as regional media operations director for APACMEA and Diarmid Farquhar as head of paid media, Australia. Poulton worked for Starcom and GroupM in London before moving to Asia in 2016 to join content-production startup. Farquhar has 15 years of experience in creative solutions, advertising strategy and content development.

Independent creative digital agency AnalogFolk appointed Dennys Hess, formerly founder and creative director of Neonite Interactive, as associate creative director in Hong Kong. The appointment follows the agency's recent Steelcase win. Other major clients include Pernod Ricard Asia and Swire. 

McCann Worldgroup Malaysia hired Adrian Ho as creative director. He will be responsible for the Celcom account and is returning to McCann after stints at Batey Ads, EuroRSCG, BBDO, Publicis and Arachnid Interactive.

Chris Mockford has been promoted to regional director of emerging markets and operations for Outbrain. This is his third role at Outbrain and second promotion since joining in August 2015.

Omnicom Media Group appointed Kelly Huang as its Taiwan CEO following the departure of Elle Huang who had been with the group for seven years. Formerly the managing director of MEC Taiwan, Kelly Huang will oversee both OMD and PHD in her new role. 

ABN Impact appointed Patrick Corr as executive director, Asia. He has been leading YouGov's APAC business since its 2014 acquisition of Decision Fuel, the mobile markt research company he founded in Asia. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

BBDO Indonesia has appointed Talha Bin Hisaam as head of planning. He joins from Ogilvy & Mather Pakistan, where he worked with Nestlé clients including Milo, Nido, Bunyard, Cerelac, Lactogrow and Nan.

Click2View hired Jackie Shorey, formerly of the Financial Times, as editorial director in Singapore. She was most recently editor of the Brunswick Review in New York.

OMD promoted Rafay Farooqi to the position of business manager in Pakistan.

BUSINESS WINS

Nike Hong Kong appointed RFI Asia to manage three Facebook pages, including Nike Running, Nike Women, and Nike Sports Wear. The remit includes overall strategy, editorial planning, multimedia content creation, and community management.

Tencent Social Ads retained RFI Asia to help market its adtech products to advertisers, as well as create sales automation tools.

Reuter Communications won a pitch to be Naked Hub’s agency in China and Hong Kong. The co-working provider has 41 locations in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, and other cities.

Burson-Marsteller was named PR agency of record for General Tire in China. The agency's Shanghai office will provide strategic counsel and integrated services including "a large digital component" to support the brand’s launch and brand awareness.

Hong Kong's Lan Kwai Fong Group selected digital brand-experience agency Monimedia to create, design, and build the website, mobile site and app for LKFtv, a digital content platform that launched on July 17 and which delivers trendy, short-form videos to local audiences.

Consulting company RXP Services is acquiring Australian digital and creative agency The Works. Agency co-founder Damian Pincus said RXP is "a future focused, innovative and culturally aligned partner".

Turner's CNN International Commercial announced a news content deal with HK Television Entertainment Company's ViuTV, which will broadcast up to two blocks of CNN news programming per day, totalling 60 minutes, on its new English-language channel ViuTVsix.

iProspect Hong Kong becomes the first 4As agency in Hong Kong to get certified as a Google Analytics Service Partner. The agency can now offer services to help clients make the most out of Google Analytics, including analytics consulting, training, media analysis and optimisation, website measurement planning and implementation, website conversions and more.
