Demand for advertising and marketing professionals in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines continues to witness a general downward trend.

Hiring demand within SEA marketing sector dips: Monster

All Southeast Asia markets are still reporting negative growth, according to the Monster Employment Index (MEI) by Monster.com.

The MEI reviews millions of job opportunities from a large representative of career websites and online job listings, tracking the growth of online recruitment.

Overall in Singapore, online hiring in the industry has fallen by 4 percent year-over-year, while in Malaysia, online recruitment has dropped by minus 22 percent. The Philippines has registered a minus 42 percent decline year-over-year, the steepest decline in this series.

For marketing and communications roles, the Philippines continues to face the steepest decline at minus 49 percent, while Singapore registered minus 7 percent year-over-year. In Malaysia, roles registered a 10 percent decline between February 2015 and 2016.
