The STW Group was unable to disclose the sum invested or the exact share it now owns in the agency which has around 25 full-time staff.

Maverick was co-founded and led by brothers Todd and Cameron Marks 12 years ago and has pioneered experiential marketing both in Australia and abroad. The brothers will stay on as directors in the agency.

STW CEO Michael Connaghan said the investment was part of the company’s focus on bolstering its service offering within the engagement sector.

“Maverick’s blend of experiential, activation and hardcore consumer PR skills brings some new capabilities, while complementing fast growing sectors of our business,” he explained

Todd Marks commented that the move would enable the agency's "next phase of business growth" thanks to access to tools, training, expertise and resources. “We are an agency who can’t sit still, continually striving to improve our offering in this fast-evolving category,” he said, adding that the new ownership would not change the agency's approach.
