Ogilvy Melbourne hired Virginia Pracht, most recently planning director at Cummins&Partners, as head of strategy and Dominic Counahan, most recently strategy planner at the same agency, as strategy planner. 

Carat Malaysia announced new additions to its senior leadership team, naming Karan Tyagi as general manager, Kenneth Teh head of digital, and Zeeshan Khan as business director. 

Independent PR agency Hume Brophy announced new operations in Hong Kong and New York after acquiring specialist firm Madaket+Co. (Read more)

Grapeshot opened a new office in Hong Kong with Jeremy Chang and Suki Ngai heading the team respectively as sales director and account manager. Chang was formerly the sales director for Hong Kong at Cluep, a mobile advertising platform while Ngai was from Omnicom Media Group. 

PHD Hong Kong has has named Joe Yu to its newly created role of content and business development director. Yu returns to PHD where he previously managed the accounts of Reckitt Benckiser Group, Tempo and Audemars Piguet.  He most recently worked as senior manager for CruiSo Digital Solutions. 

Pully Chau was named CEO of Cheil Greater China, effective immediately, filling the vacancy left by previous president and CEO Aaron Lau. (Read more)

The Indonesian Association of Public Relations Companies, Asosiasi Perusahaan Public Relations Indonesia (APPRI) has elected managing director of Imogen PR Indonesia and PROI Worldwide Indonesian partner Jojo Suharjo Nugroho as its chairperson for 2017-2020.

AdAsia Holdings appointed Sam Tam as vice president in Hong Kong. Most recently CMO at Russian advertising technology outfit DCA Asia Limited, he reports to Kosuke Sogo, CEO and co-founder of AdAsia Holdings.

Dentsu Aegis Network promoted Adrian Roeling to president of Amplifi for Australia and New Zealand. He was previously national managing director for Dentsu Mitchell, where Corina Cosma and Penny Davy-Whyte have been named interim co-leaders. 

Singapore’s The Secret Little Agency (TSLA) today announced a new strategic partnership with fellow independent creative agency Mother. (Read more)

Innity appointed Ram Teodosio as regional director and head of product, and Nilesh Jadhav as regional account director. Both will be based in Malaysia. Teodosio relocates to Malaysia from Philippines, where he was program director for digital growth and transformation for Starcom MediaVest Group. Jadhav relocates from India, were he worked at Zirca and oversaw sales of Adform’s Programmatic Platform. 

Bang & Olufsen's audio unit B&O PLAY retained W Asia as its PR and communications agency in Singapore. The agency will handle a series of product launches and campaigns for the brand, focusing on influencer marketing, creative partnerships and events. 

AOI Pro. Group acquired an ownership stake in VF Investment Joint Stock Company, the holding company that owns View Finder Media, an image-production company in Vietnam. AOI Pro already has presence in Indonesia, Thailand, and China (Beijing and Shanghai). View Finder has several large studios and 85 employees.

Ydigital Asia expanded to Sri Lanka via a partnership with Colombo-based Innovation Quotient. Together the two have launched ‘Digital Tomorrow’, described as digital centre of excellence.  

Cisco hired Mark Phibbs as its new vice president of marketing and communications for APAC and Japan. He brings more than 25 years' experience to the role, having held senior marketing roles at the likes of IBM, Microsoft and most recently Adobe.

SportsFix, a mobile-centric over-the-top streaming platform, appointed Shenton Gomez as director of marketing. He was previosuly part of a team that led the transformation of Stadium Astro to become one of the top sports websites in Malaysia.
