Catch up on past people moves and business wins

Y&R Thailand appointed Ketchayong Skowratananont (known as Dr. Lek), as CEO. He takes over from Sanjay Bhasin, who left the company last year. Skowratananont has more than 20 years’ experience in business development, marketing, sales and customer relationship management, most recently as chief commercial officer of Thai Smile Airways, the subsidiary of Thai Airways. He worked with Y&R as a client during 15 years he spent at DTAC, where his last role was CEO of the company’s online payment subsidiary, Paysbuy. He is the first CEO for Y&R Thailand to come from a non-agency background, and will report to Chris Foster, regional president. (The "Dr." refers to one of several degreees Skowratananont holds, a PhD in electrical engineering from Imperial College, University of London.)  

MediaCom appointed Willie Pang, currently chief operating officer, as CEO of MediaCom Australia and New Zealand effective 1 March. He will take over from Sean Seamer, who was recently appointed as CEO of Supercars Australia. Pang joined MediaCom in 2015 as chief digital officer, and was promoted to COO in July 2017.

J Walter Thompson Singapore appointed Jon Loke, most recently ECD at Publicis Singapore, as executive creative director. He assumes leadership for a key cluster of local and international accounts, reporting to chief creative officer and global ECD for Lux, Marco Versolato.

Ogilvy Sydney promoted Jenny Mak from associate creative director to creative director, reporting to ECD Derek Green. Her portfolio includes work for Coca-Cola, Huggies, and KFC, as well as a new campaign for Primo launching this week.

Ogilvy & Mather promoted Abhik Santara and VR Rajesh to office head and managing partner, respectively, in Mumbai. They will also oversee the Kolkata office. Santara leads the agency's relationships with Unilever Beverages, Bajaj Auto and Marico, while Rajesh previously led the Kolkata office.

Kraft Heinz China appointed Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai as its lead creative agency for all brands following a "fierce multi-way pitch", according to the agency. The remit covers categories including infant food, sauce and condiments, and snacks and includes new products under the brands of Heinz Infant, Master Soy Sauce and Planters. The client praised the agency's "boldness, planning capability, and professionalism" in a statement.

DDB China appointed Takho Lau as ECD and managing partner for Guangzhou and Beijing, who will work alongside Matthew Cheng, MD of the two offices. Lau was previously ECD at Leo Burnett Shanghai and has also worked Ogilvy & Mather and JWT.

RedDoorz, an online budget hotel booking platform, appointed Edward Wong as vice president of marketing. He was previously regional head of country digital at Grab, where he led the country digital managers across the region. He has also worked for OMD Singapore, Omnicon Media Group, and Starcom Mediavest Group.
