Catch up on past people moves and business wins

Mexican quick-service restaurant chain, Taco Bell, has appointed BBH India as its lead creative agency in the market. The account was won following a multi-agency pitch. BBH will lead communications across advertising, branded content, digital and social.

BBDO India has appointed MullenLowe Lintas' Jazryk Gill as vice president. Gill has 13 years of experience in the industry including roles at agencies JWT, Dentsu Marcom, Wieden+Kennedy and Cheil, as well as a one-year stint at broadcaster Nat Geo. She will join from an 18-month stint at Lowe Lintas where she is currently business head on key accounts Google India and Fabindia. Gill will report to EVP and chief growth officer Nikhil Mahajan.

Lion and Lion Digital Group appointed Bilal Khan as its head of strategy. He was previously integrated strategy director at Dentsu Aegis Network and has more than 10 years of global and regional strategic experience, including roles at Y&R and Ogilvy.

Chinese trade fashion publication Jiemian confirmed that the editor-in-chief and CEO of Elle China, Xiao Xie, will step down after 14 years with Elle, Jing Daily reported. She became editorial director of Elle China in 2006 and CEO and editor-in-chief 10 years later. She is credited with breaking ground by putting more Chinese celebrities on the magazine's cover, starting with the actress Zhang Ziyi, and eschewing foreign celebrities and models.
