BBDO Bangkok has appointed Thasorn Boonyanate (Pete) as chief creative officer effective January 2022. Boonyanate was previously executive creative director with Wunderman Thompson. This is Boonyanate's second stint at the BBDO network, having previously worked with the Shanghai office between 2016 and 2017. While Boonyanate is a celebrated creative across the market, his video dear client, thank you for canceling our work, speaking of a big contract for TCP Group that got cancelled due to the pandemic, went viral.  

Liza Zhang, general manager, MSL Shanghai and Guangzhou has been promoted to managing director, MSL China. She will now oversee the operations for MSL China and lead a team of over 200 consultants based in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. Zhang will continue to be based in Shanghai and report to Arto Hampartsoumian, managing partner and executive chairman, Publicis Groupe China, and Margaret Key, CEO - MSL Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

Ogilvy China has been selected by Tongwei Group, an enterprise in agricultural industrialization in the country, to create a new premium pet food brand called Pjoy. The new brand's product line currently includes 16 types of cat and dog food and Ogilvy Shanghai supported the launch just ahead of this year’s Singles’ Day festival, delivering a communications strategy and amplifying brand awareness KOLs and KOCs on key Chinese social media platforms.

Deepshikha Dharmaraj has been named as chief executive officer, BCW India Group, effective immediately. Dharmaraj will retain her current role as chief executive officer, Genesis BCW, in addition to managing the overall business interests of BCW in India.

Dentsu India has appointed Ramsai Suriyanarayanan as managing partner- Trading, Media. Suriyanarayanan will lead media investments for Reckitt. Suriyanarayanan has over 25 years of experience, with almost 14 years at senior positions across procurement, sales and marketing functions in the media industry. 

Essence appointed Jennifer Zhu as vice president of investment in China, reporting to China CEO Benjamin Wei. The position is a new one within the GroupM agency. Zhu was previously with IPG Mediabrands, where she established Rapport as its managing director in mainland China and Hong Kong. Prior to that she was managing director of GroupM's Kinetic, and she started her career in account management at Zenith.

Jo Boundy, CMO of Qantas, is joining Australia's Commonwealth Bank as executive general manager and CMO in March. She has more than 20 years of experience and spent 12 years at Qantas, becoming CMO of its loyalty programme in 2016 before taking over as CMO in 2019. She has prior experience at Optus, Google, BT and Lewis PR.

Bank of China Life has hired sports KOL and communications professional Walter Cheung as marketing communications consultant as it launches its 'Live Young' rewards programme, which aims to encourage healthy lifestyles by coupling gamification with charity and social elements. Cheung completed his 100th marathon in October and is the founder of Walter Cheung Communications.
