Dentsu Creative India has appointed Ajeet Shukla as group executive creative director. He will report into Aalap Desai, chief creative officer of Taproot Dentsu and Isobar India. Prior to this, Ajeet was with Publicis India as executive creative director.  

Mediabrands has chosen Angela Zou as head of performance China to lead the Performance Hub, which integrates the capabilities and offerings of Reprise and MBCS (Mediabrands Content Studio), including ecommerce, social, search, content and KOL to drive growth for clients across the Mediabrands network in China. Zou will be tasked with leading the Performance Hub with integrated Reprise and MBCS’ strengths to develop holistic performance products and solutions to drive more synergy across the network and grow business with efficiency and effectiveness.  

Financial platform Revolut has appointed Raymond Ng as Singapore chief executive officer. Prior to joining Revolut, Ng was the chief commercial officer at Liquid Group. He also previously held senior executive roles with large global corporations such as Microsoft, Visa and MasterCard as well as with tech startups. Ng will focus on leading and building the next chapter of Revolut’s expansion in Singapore, developing and implementing the local business strategy.  

VMLY&R has launched VMLY&R COMMERCE in Brisbane. The agency will have an on-the-ground presence for commerce in Brisbane and leverage both Sydney and Melbourne VMLY&R COMMERCE offices for delivery, as well as the global network. 

Cheil Worldwide has signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) CYPHRLY, a global NFT marketplace by Dunamu’s affiliate. Through this business agreement, Cheil will be responsible for the planning and production of clients’ brand NFTs while CYPHRLY will be in charge of development and operation of NFTs tailored to its own platform. The two companies will collaborate to present new types of NFT, and expand marketing and IP (intellectual property) business based on it. 

Dow Jones has appointed Elgen Kua as its director of communications for APAC, based in Singapore. In his role, Kua is responsible for shaping and developing region-specific communications and clear channel strategies for the APAC region as part of Dow Jones’s Corporate Communications team. This includes leading thought leadership strategies, media relations and employee communications. Most recently, Kua was the South China Morning Post’s (SCMP) director of corporate communications where he headed its efforts out of the Hong Kong and Singapore offices. 

Mindshare has appointed Sidharth Parashar as its chief investment officer for APAC. Formerly the president of investments and pricing at GroupM India, Parashar will be based in Singapore and will be part of the Mindshare APAC leadership team. Reporting to APAC CEO Helen McRae, Parashar will focus on enhancing Mindshare’s investment strategy across local markets as well as driving its 'Intentional Investment' and 'Good Growth' agendas.
 
Distillery has brought on Esther Yue and Stephen Mangham to lead regional and global operations. Mangham, who joins as global chief operating officer, spent 13 years in Singapore; first as Ogilvy’s chairman before setting up his own agency which was sold to Dentsu. He returned to his home country, the UK, where he has been supporting Distillery's global growth as a strategic advisor since 2020. Yue is no stranger to operations, having led teams at Saatchis, BBDO, Dentsu, Craft Worldwide APAC, and most recently with IPG APAC studios. She will be based in the Singapore office as head of operations for APAC.  
 
Ogilvy Asia has added four regional creative hires to its Singapore and Hong Kong offices. Nikhil Panjwani joins as regional executive director; Dan Parmenter, creative director; Hugo Suíssas, senior art director, and Tiago Silva, senior copywriter. They will primarily work within OpenX, WPP’s bespoke team dedicated to The Coca-Cola Company and its portfolio of brands across Asia-Pacific.  

VMLY&R has been appointed by Vietnam fabrics manufacturer Everpia Joint Stock Company, as the strategic brand partner for its flagship mattress and bedding brand, Everon, in Vietnam. 

DDB Group Singapore has been appointed creative agency-of-record in a three-year partnership with Audi Singapore. The agency is tasked with bolstering customer loyalty and awareness of the German car brand's product range across all marketing channels, with a specific focus on social media. DDB Singapore will also support the communication roll-out of the car manufacturer's road map in the country. 

Honasa Consumer Pvt Limited has appointed Zeno Group to lead its strategic brand communications mandate for two brands, The Derma Co and Aqualogica. Zeno will lead the communication strategy for the two brands managing communications across both traditional and new-age digital channels. 

PRHK has appointed its new board and sub-committees for 2022/23. The year ahead will see PRHK continue to represent, champion, promote and grow the Hong Kong public relations and communications industry. The new board and sub-committees of PRHK came into effect in August 2022 with the following appointments:

L'Oréal promotes Lau Sook Ping as the chief digital and marketing officer, Malaysia and Singapore. Ping has been with the group for over seven years and was previously transformation director, Malaysia and Singapore.

Digital media agency Essence has won integrated media agency duties for FMCG company Liby in China. The agency’s remit will include consulting, strategy, content innovation, media planning and media activation for all of Liby’s brand and performance marketing activities across China.

RGA's former APAC chief, Tuomas Peltoniemi, has joined Accenture Song to serve as its new Southeast Asia go-to-market and client services lead. Peltoniemi left RGA in June, culminating in a series of management changes. He had joined RGA as managing director in November 2018 from TBWA, where he has served as president of Digital Arts Network Asia. Read the full story here.

Singapore-based independent agency, Blak Labs, bolsters its creative leadership with four key promotions:

  • Fin Guo who joined the company in 2014 as art director has now become the creative director.
  • Elon Law and Wilson Tan move up as associate creative directors.
  • Regina Lee who has been with the agency for a decade widens her remit as head of digital. She was previously the digital design chief.

Hong Kong-based restaurant operator Pirata Group appoints Burger King Scandinavia executive Steen Puggard as its new CEO as the group prepares for international expansion in 2023. A senior executive and marketer with 25 years of experience building both blue-chip brands as well as local and regional startups in Asia, Puggard succeeds co-founder Manuel Palacio who will assume the chairmanship of the company and focus on providing strategic advice. In his new role, Puggard will oversee day-to-day operations and Pirata Group’s international expansion.

Female-led British healthtech brand Elvie has selected PR and communications agency Sling & Stone to handle its brand awareness programme in Australia. Under the new partnership, Sling & Stone will launch Elvie’s innovative products in Australia, starting with the Elvie Trainer, the smart Kegel trainer designed by founder and CEO Tania Boler after she found out one in three women experience pelvic floor issues in their lifetime.

Joe Lunn has been appointed as APAC head of Media at Uber. He was previously chief technology and transformation officer for Mindshare Australia. He was also chair for Australia's MFA awards.

RGA Singapore has promoted Marianne Whitman to general manager. Whitman, who has been at the agency for over six years, will lead the company’s Singapore office effective immediately. Most
recently, she held the position of group director, production. Whitman will continue to work with Dorothy Peng, who was recently promoted to SVP managing director Asia and oversees RGA’s Asia region.

Future Creative Network, an Indonesian holding company for creative technology network and incubator platform, has appointed Anne Ridwan as COO. Prior to joining FCN, she was a country director of R3 Indonesia  

Luxury lifestyle brand Lexus has appointed Havas Blvd to amplify the Japanese carmaker’s sponsorship of the Lexus Melbourne Cup, including its presence in Flemington's Birdcage enclosure during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Havas Blvd will manage consumer and lifestyle communications, including Lexus Ambassadors and friends of Lexus, bringing to life the refined luxury for which Lexus is renowned, through stunning entertainment, culinary, sustainability and design experiences.

Mindshare has appointed Bhidak Indraduta as its new managing director for Thailand, effective as of September 1, 2022. Indraduta, who has worked with Mindshare and GroupM for 20 years, has been promoted from his current position as Mindshare Thailand's chief client officer. He replaces Pathamawan Sathaporn who was promoted to CEO of GroupM Thailand in April. As MD, Indraduta will be responsible for ensuring clients' satisfaction and connecting them with wider GroupM services and WPP capabilities. He will report to Mindshare APAC CEO Helen McRae.
