SingTel shortlists Arc, OgilvyOne for digital business

SINGAPORE - SingTel is believed to have shortlisted Arc and OgilvyOne for its digital account.

SingTel shortlists Arc, OgilvyOne for digital business
According to sources close to the review, Arc and OgilvyOne are to make final presentations to the telco in the coming days. SingTel is expected to announce its choice for its digital agency-of-record as early as next week.

The review was first called in September, with approximately 10 agencies reportedly responding to the RFP.

SingTel’s digital pitch parallels the company’s ongoing media review. SingTel’s media pitch was first called in June, with a shortlist of MediaCom, Starcom and eight-year incumbent MEC announced soon afterwrds. However, the company added MPG to its shortlist after it reopened the pitch in August, with sources further suggesting that five agencies, including ZenithOptimedia, PHD, MPG, Carat and Universal McCann, had been invited to present again.

SingTel announced its finalised shortlist in October, resulting in a two-agency showdown between MEC and Starcom.

According to sources close to the media review, MEC and Starcom are expected to make one last round of presentations in late January, with a decision expected to follow in the first quarter.

MEC’s contract with SingTel expires in March, sources add.

While sources were unable to comment on the price tag of SingTel’s digital or media accounts, past reports note that BBDO won SingTel’s US$20.5 million creative account in January 2008.
