Mindshare currently handles Nike’s media communications across the globe, and will add search marketing, strategy and planning for China to its remit.

“Search sits at the heart of our communication strategies. Through search, consumers can connect to Nike on demand. Integrating 'search' with 'store' is increasingly important for commercial value," Gordon Domlija, managing director, key international accounts, Mindshare China said.

“Given Nike's willingness to grow search marketing in this competitive market, Mindshare now has  significant responsibility to boost Nike’s competency and investments in this arena, ” Melvyn Goh, president of Mindshare China added.

The athletic shoe and apparel company has set its sights on China as one of its top growth markets. On Friday October 7, it also confirmed plans to build a new company campus in Shanghai.
