Li Ning appoints Bates to drive global growth

BEIJING - Li Ning, the Chinese sportswear brand, has handed a global creative brief to Bates141 following a pitch, as it looks to raise appeal outside of the domestic market.

The assignment will see Bates develop integrated brand and marketing communications strategy for international markets. According to a statement from the company, the account will include design, activation and special order programmes as well as regular above-the-line creative work.

A spokesperson for the agency commented that it was “a privilege to work with such an iconic home-grown brand to help achieve its global ambitions as one of the world’s greatest brands”.

Leo Burnett Shanghai handles Li Ning in China. This account is not thought to be affected by the Bates appointment.

The value of the international account has not been confirmed.
