Euro RSCG named AOR for Chinese children's wear Balabala

SHANGHAI – Euro RSCG Shanghai has been appointed as agency-of-record for Chinese children’s clothing brand Balabala, following a pitch against Leo Burnett and DraftFCB.

Euro RSCG is tasked with reviewing the brand’s positioning and developing a fresh, long-term strategic orientation, followed by an above-the-line brand campaign and seasonal collection campaigns.

Established in 2002, Balabala has quickly become a trendsetter in the fast growing children’s wear category, with the win coming as Balabala seeks to position itself as China’s leading children’s wear brand.

It is the latest in a string of high-profile domestic brands signed with the agency, including Nabel, Suning and Jade Villa.

“This win demonstrates our strong offering across multiple disciplines, including strategy and creative, as well as seamless team work,” said Edward Su, managing director of Euro RSCG Shanghai.

“Not only do we have an intimate understanding of Chinese consumers, but we also have an in-depth understanding of Chinese enterprises and the environment in which they operate – which is a key attribute to developing strong, stable relationships in this market.”

“Driving our growth with domestic clients is a core part of Euro RSCG China’s strategy, which makes this an extra-special win for the agency,” he added.

Earlier this year, Euro RSCG reorganised its Shanghai management, rehiring Jowell See as the agency's executive partner and promoting Kitty Gu to the role of business director.
