Be Strategic Malaysia appointed Dan Iskandar as creative strategist. He has been with the company since last July, prior to which he was national marketing manager with FAL Food & Beverages. The agency's clients include Baker Hughes, Quill Automobiles, Gamuda Land, UDA Land and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

Watch brand Daniel Wellington hired iProspect as its digital agency of record in APAC. The agency will be responsible for digital media planning across key marketing including Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, handled out of the Hong Kong office.

Domo appointed Simon Baker as regional director for New Zealand.

Essence hired two new leaders in APAC. Daphne Goh joined as vice president for data strategy, having held previous roles in Australia with Nielsen, Zenith and Adobe. She also worked for Google in Copenhagen as senior industry manager. Aarti Bharadwaj joined as vice president for client analytics. She was most recently VP at Publicis Media in India.

Independent Indian creative shop Creativeland Asia appointed Venkat Balasubramanian as group CFO. He was previously a senior partner at Centaur Consult, and brings 20 years' experience to the role, having worked with the likes of the Smithsonian Institute in the US and Wieden + Kennedy. 

Holiday rental company HomeAway appointed Magnum & Co as its communications agency for Australia and New Zealand. Magnum will handle all communications strategy, including influencer marketing, earned media, content creation and social. 

Omnicom Media Group made big changes to its leadership in Vietnam. Julien Courant was appointed COO, bringing 17 years' experience to the role. Sang Hua joined from Mindshare Vietnam as head of digital, while Loan Be was promoted to performance lead. Uyen Minh joined as business director at PHD Vietnam, and Huy Lam joined as planning manager at OMD Vietnam, also from Mindshare Vietnam.

Grey Group AMEA appointed John Tenchavez Lucas as the new CEO of Campaigns & Grey  Philippines. Jose Carlo (Boboy) Consunji, who has led the agency since 2015, will be taking on the role of non-executive director. Tenchavez Lucas has more than 25 years of experience and was previously chief growth officer of DDB Group Philippines (DDB, Tribal Worldwide Philippines, Agile Intelligence, Ripple8 PR & Touch XDA). He will work with Nirvik Singh, chairman and CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, to drive the ongoing digital transformation of the company. 

The NSW Rural Fire Service re-appointed J. Walter Thompson Sydney as creative agency for the next three years following a pitch. A campaign regarding bush-fire preparation is in development. 

Text100 Hong Kong appointed Vicky Neill as principal consultant to support a growing roster of multinational clients. She was previously vice president at Racepoint Global and has also worked with Cohn & Wolfe.

Blis hired Kaye Quema as Asia head of sales. She brings 11 years' experience, most recently as APAC vice president at Pokkt. She will head Blis' growth and sales strategies in the region. 

BBDO Guerrero appointed Federico Fanti as executive creative director. He will report to creative chairman David Guerrero and joins from Y&R Moscow, where he spent the last five years. 

Propel Manila appointed Raymund Sison as creative leader and partner. He was previously lead creative for Jollibee at Publicis JimenezBasic and has also worked for BBDO Guerrero, Campaigns & Grey, and DDB Philippines. 

Havas Sports & Entertainment, a division of Havas Media Asia Pacific, was named international media rights and commercial partner by fight promoters MP Promotions and Events for the highly anticipated ‘Fight of Champions’ WBA (World Boxing Association) Welterweight Championship featuring Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse on 15 July. The deal covers worldwide* distribution across the Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Africa and includes media rights across all platforms and devices including television, broadband, mobile, radio and in-flight rights.

TeamAsia founder and president Monette Iturralde-Hamlin received an Outstanding ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Award in a ceremony organized by the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) in Bangkok. The awards honour outstanding entrepreneurs who champion fair, gender-sensitive labor practices for women and have made an impact in society through their commitment, vision, and leadership.

FreeWheel, a Comcast-owned video advertising company, announced the opening of an office in Sydney. Arjun Arora, commercial director for ANZ, will leading the office. The company has also recently opened a Southeast Asia office. 

Braze (formerly Appboy), a US-based customer-engagement platform focused on messaging, announced the opening of its new office in Singapore. The expansion is a collaboration with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EBD) and follows a successful incubation period serving over 50 locally headquartered clients, including global electronics company, LG, Lazada-owned online grocery delivery company RedMart, and Thailand-based ecommerce marketplace Kaidee. The company appointed Ben Glynn as senior director of Braze APAC to head the office.
