Catch up on past people moves and business wins

WPP AUNZ appointed Adam Good, most recently chief digital officer at Dentsu, to a newly created role as executive director of marketing technology. He will focus on establishing an ‘interface’ for all agencies, connecting with global WPP network resources, plus evaluating and filling any resource gaps at each of the group’s agency brands, according to the company. Good has 25 years of experience in the US, China, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, and has worked for Omnicom, Dentsu Aegis, Microsoft, Newscorp and Telstra.

GPJ Australia promoted Caleb Bush to senior vice president of GPJ Australia and MD of Project ANZ. He was previously MD of GPJ Australia. He will be focused partly on collaboration between the Project ANZ agencies: GPJ Australia, Dig & Fish, Spinifex and Dark Horse.

Lowe Lintas promoted Naveen Gaur to deputy CEO. He was previously COO for the North, East and South regions. Gaur will now be based in Lowe's headquarters in Mumbai. (Read more)

Sydney-based independent digital agency The Wired Agency appointed Daniel Picken as SEO manager. He was previously with Reprise as a digital solutions specialist in organic, working primarily on Coca Cola, Hyundai, AMP and Jemena.

Merkle appointed Frank Zhang as chief operating officer of Merkle APAC, in addition to his current role as senior vice president and general manager of Merkle China. The role is a new one for the company. Zhang has been with Merkle for the last five years. “This is a challenging role, but a necessary role for Merkle APAC," Zhang said in a release. "As Merkle is expending aggressively in the region, both through organic growth and mergers and acquisitions, we need to ensure our operation remains lean, agile, and cost efficient."

Sizmek appointed Paul Kent as APAC commercial director and Heidi Monro as sales director inNew South Wales. Kent, who will be based in Sydney, was most recently commercial director at in-app data specialist InMobi, where he ran the ANZ business for two years. Monro joins Sizmek after over six years’ experience at MCN, where she held a variety of digital group sales roles.

Angela Gao is promoted to planning director from senior planner at BBDO China. Gao has been the planning lead for more than two years on SC Johnson, Shanghai Disney Resort, McDonald's and KSF Noodles—accounts that contributed to more than US$ 8 million of agency revenue, according to her. In 2018, her cases won the Warc and ROI Festival Grand Prixes.

Bella Ling-Nair has returned to full-time employment with a new job as director of communications for APAC and Greater China at Baxter International based in Shanghai, after being an independent consultant since Mar 2017. Prior to that period, she was Airbnb's head of communications for Greater China based in Beijing.
