Catch up on past people moves and business wins

State Street Global Advisors has appointed Ellen Tsang as head of marketing for Asia (excluding Japan). Tsang will be based in Hong Kong and report to Richard Parker, London-based global head of institutional marketing, and June Wong, head of Asia ex-Japan.  

Xaxis hired Deepika Nikhilender as APAC senior vice president. She was most recently CEO of audience solutions agency CtrlShift, and before that was one of the founding members of Mindshare in the region. Among Nikhilender responsibilities is driving Xaxis APAC's product, supply, programmatic and marketing science practices. 

Grey Group India has promoted Yashaswini Samat, who has headed P&G for the AMEA region, to chairman and managing director of Grey Group India in an appointment that will begin on June 30th. Former chaiman and MD Sunil Lilla exits Grey for other opportunities. 

HR software specialists Peoplewave, based in Singapore, have hired Micky Lin as vice president of marketing. Lin was a founding team member of the Marina Bay Sands resort and has also worked on digital marketing at Deloitte Singapore. Two more team members have also recently joined the marketing team. 

RXP and The Works in Australia launched new content and production agency Daresay. It will offer planning, creative production, video and post-production, animation, editorial, amplification and analytics. The move comes after the closure of Isentia's strategy and content division, after which RXP and The Work continued to collaborate and hired four senior Isentia staff, including Ruth Haffenden, who is now Daresay head of strategy and content. Rachel Solomon is head of broadcast and content. 

WE Communications hired Ivy Esquero as APAC director of insights and analytics. Esquero was previously director of consumer insights and measurement at Discovery Networks APAC. She has 10 years' industry experience across Asia and the US. 

Data analytics company Qlik hired Text100 for communications work in Singapore. The agency is tasked with building Qlik's brand identity in the market through mulit-channel storytelling.

Havas Media promoted Jacqui Lim, Singapore CEO, to APAC head of business development. Lim took on the new role as regional business lead in addition to her CEO duties. 

Independent agency Secret Tour Hong Kong snagged industry veteran Erika Chan as its group creative director. Chan previously held the same title at Havas Hong Kong. 

Malaysian broadcaster Astro awarded creative duties for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia to Merdeka LHS, part of Dentsu Aegis Network. The agency will deliver an integrated creative campaign for the event. 

Gaming company Bandai Namco hired VML Singapore as its creative agency for its first regional brand campaign. Headquartered in Japan, Bandai Namco's regional office is in Singapore. VML will seek to raise brand awareness and increase preference using Bandai Namco's roster of famous video games, including Tekken and Ace Combat.

IPG Mediabrands promoted David Haddad to Singapore CEO. Haddad was previously Singapore managing director. He has 16 years' industry experience and joined IPG Mediabrands in September 2016.

Ogilvy CommonHealth Australia promoted Kristina Luburic to general manager. She takes over from Gary Pattison, who continues as CEO of WPP Health & Wellness ANZ. Luburic was previously director of medical communications.

Japanese adtech firm Freakout Holdings signed an exclusive agreement with SilverPush to monetise its 'TV Sync' offering in Southeast Asia. TV Sync allows advertisers to better connect with multi-screen audiences in real-time, FreakOut said, delivering better ROI in both TV and digital ad spend.
