Innovation Spikes award shortlist announced

Spikes Asia has announced the Innovation shortlist for the 2019 festival, with South Korea and Australia each nabbing two of the final six shortlisted pieces of work.

The selections were made by the Spikes Innovation jury from a total of 28 entries received. Entries from Thailand and Singapore also made the shortlist.

The Innovation Spikes recognise ground-breaking innovation and technological solutions that enable creative and novel interaction with audiences. On Thursday September 26th, the shortlisted entrants will present and showcase their ideas live to the Innovation jury and attendees at Spikes Asia at Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore.

The 2019 shortlisted entries are:

  • ‘7:1 Furniture Collection’ for HomePro by BBDO Bangkok, Thailand
  • ‘Sans Forgetica’ for RMIT University by Naked Communications, Sydney, Australia
  • ‘City of Possibilities’ for Singapore Tourism Board by TBWA\Singapore, Singapore
  • ‘The Quiet Taxi’ for Hyundai Motor Group by Innocean Worldwide, Seoul, South Korea
  • ‘H2.0’ for Deloitte by Deloitte Australia, Melbourne, Australia
  • ‘Too Far to Walk’ for Healcerion by Innored, Seoul, South Korea

Entrants will have the chance to present their work to the jury who can then ask questions and probe the work, led by Innovation jury president, Tara McKenty, the APAC creative lead for Google Brand Studio. “The Innovation Spikes live judging format provides entrants the opportunity to explain the background and insight to the campaign and what really makes it stands out from the rest to set the creative benchmark for the Asia Pacific region," said Spikes Asia festival director Joe Pullos.

Following the presentations and questions, the jury will reconvene to discuss, debate and award the work they consider to be worthy of a bronze, silver, gold or grand prix award. The winners will then be announced at the Spikes Asia awards show on Friday September 27th.
