China Mobile Beijing kicks off media review

BEIJING - China Mobile's Beijing branch office has called an annual pitch for its media business.

China Mobile Beijing kicks off media review
The first round of presentations will take place this week. Vizuem, China Mobile's five-year incumbent agency, and MEC Beijing are believed to be involved in the review.

China Mobile Beijing oversees the sales for all brands under China Mobile in the city. Key brands and services are G3, its 3G service, GoTone, its postpay service, EasyOwn, its prepay service, and M-Zone, a youth-focused service.

China Mobile launched a creative agency review in March with Lintas and Publicis appointed to the account.

Meanwhile Can Create, McCann Worldgroup's boutique agency in Shanghai, recently retained the China Mobile Shanghai creative account, after its annual procurement pitch this summer.

Can Create has worked on the China Mobile Shanghai account since May 2007. The agency’s focus this year will be on G3 and China Mobile's Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

In August, China Mobile and CCTV partnered to launch National Mobile Television News Weekly, a mobile video site that will be accessible on both GSM and China Mobile's TD-SCDMA platform.

In June, China's new 3G services looked set to shake up the country's mobile market, with China Mobile at risk of losing users, according to a study by CTR.
