The regional account was acquired after a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies from Taiwan and Singapore over a month ago.

The agency pointed out that FX Photocopier have a leading market share in Asia, while FX Printer Asia Pacific is a new division launched six years ago and in direct competition with counterparts like HP and Canon.

According to a Hong Kong adspend report by admanGo, Canon doubled its advertising spend for Q1 in 2010 with a year-on-year increased of 115 per cent.

The client is aiming to extend its strong equity and product portfolio and to gear themselves for a more aggressive push into the markets, which lead to the appointment of an integrated communications agency with strong footprint in Asia.

Christine Wu, communications manager of Fuji Xerox Printers Channel Operations Asia Pacific and China, said: "Through the partnership with Bates 141 Hong Kong, I have experienced the team's high level of dedication and passion for our projects. Their strategic analysis capabilities and creative artwork are equally impressive."
