Photos: Red Bull's Flugtag event draws 40,000 Hong Kongers

More than 40,000 people braved a rainstorm warning on Sunday to watch the second-annual Red Bull Flugtag event in Hong Kong. The competition drew 43 teams, including students, engineers, ad-agency folks and Google staff, to try their 'aircraft' designs—including one shaped like a dim sum cart. Among the local celebrities attending the event was Sam Lee (李璨琛) of the Subcrew apparel brand, along with his orange-clad team and shark-shaped submarine/airplane. YouTube carried a live boradcast of the event in a first-time partnership. Please see the linked article at the bottom of this page for a video of some of the best crashes (surprisingly, few of the contraptions achieved anything resembling flight).
