Video adtech company Unruly, part of Tremor International, appointed Toby Williams as vice president of business development in the APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa) regions. He will be based at the Unruly APAC HQ in Singapore, reporting to Phil Townend, chief revenue officer for APMEA. He replaces Haifaa Daw, who left in September. He joins following over a year at Smaato, where he was senior director of demand for APAC. Prior to that he spent three years at Verizon, where he was the head of the exchange business across APAC.

Digital PR agency Bebop Asia and integrated marketing agency Akin have been appointed by the Korea IT Cooperation Center Singapore (KICC) to market Korea’s annual K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC 2020) in Southeast Asia and organise online regional auditions. The pitch process started in December, and in April Bebop Asia and Akin were chosen to carry out public relations/event management and social-media duties, respectively. The brief was to provide the most effective way to gain significant startup signups in the Southeast Asian region starting May 15.

Enero Group appointed Brent Scrimshaw as CEO, effective July 1. Scrimshaw was founder and CEO of Unscriptd, a technology-led sports media company that was acquired by New York-based publisher The Players Tribune in 2018. He also spent 18 years at Nike including three years as vice president and chief executive for Western Europe, chief marketing officer for EMEA, and other roles in Europe, the US and Australia. Scrimshaw also currently serves as an independent non-executive director of three ASX-listed companies: retail group Kathmandu Holdings, sports technology and data business Catapult Sports, and medical technology business Rhinomed Limited. Enero Group includes creative agency BMF, PR agencies Hotwire, Frank and CPR, research consultancies The Leading Edge and The Digital Edge, digital agency Orchard and programmatic marketing specialist OBMedia.

How We Roll, a brand offering 'tree-free' paper products, appointed Australia's The Wired Agency as its global digital marketing agency. The brand, which launched in Australia last week, sells 100% recycled and bamboo-based products including toilet paper, paper towels and tissues via a subscription model. Wired’s remit for includes paid search and shopping, SEO and display. The agency will be responsible for launching the brand in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Jewellery retailer Pandora appointed Carat across Australia and New Zealand following a three-way pitch against Mindshare and incumbent Ikon. The account will includes strategy, planning and buying across TV, print, OOH, digital, SEO, social media and mobile and will launch on June 1. The agency has created Team Pink, an integrated team led by Carat, together with Dentsu’s digital performance marketing agency, iProspect, who were the incumbent for Pandora’s digital requirements.

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has chosen Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) Singapore to roll out a new iteration of its 'Graciousness' campaign, for the sixth straight year. The agency will be responsible for an end-to-end campaign will comprising a communications strategy and creative. The campaign features characters known as the Thoughtful Bunch—Stand-Up Stacey, Move-In Martin, Give-Way Glenda, Hush-Hush Hannah and Bag-Down Benny—who promote graciousness attitudes and behaviours. 

ByteDance announced the appointment of Kevin Mayer, the ex-chairman of direct-to-consumer and international at Disney, as its chief operating officer, as well as CEO of TikTok. (Read more)

Inskin Media appointed Darryl Choo as sales director for Asia. He moves up from his previous role as head of sales in Southeast Asia, which he has held since January 2019. He will continue to be based in Singapore.

David Anjoubault has been appointed chief executive officer for the Insights division of Kantar in Vietnam. He moves from company’s Worldpanel division, which he led in Ho Chi Minh City for the last eight years. Anjoubault takes over from Nitin Nishandar, who will now be chairman of the Insights division in Vietnam, in addition to his role as chief client officer. Fabrice Carrasco, Worldpanel’s managing director of Vietnam and Philippines will take over Anjoubault’s Worldpanel responsibilities.

Communications consultancy Rice has announced three client wins in Singapore, bolstering its portfolio in the education and technology sectors. First, it signed a contract with General Assembly, a tech education and career transformation solutions, to support its corporate communications strategy and program in Singapore. RICE has also been appointed as strategy communications agency of record in Singapore for BlackLine, accounting automation software provider and Ciena, a networking systems, services and software company.

Hari Shankar has joined iVideoSmart as chief revenue officer. He was previously CEO of Singapore Media Exchange (SMX), the programmatic marketplace formed by Singapore publishers Mediacorp and Singapore Press Holdings. Prior to SMX, Shankar was managing director at Ecselis, the performance unit of Havas Media, and has also held roles at PayPal, Performics, Mindshare and Havas Media.

Nerolac Paints added Leo Burnett to its roster of creative agencies after a multi-agency pitch. The account will be handled out of the agency's Mumbai office.
