AIA Singapore extended its relationship with Ogilvy as its communications agency of record for three more years following a pitch. The two have been partners since 2010. 

XL Prioritas, a post-paid service, re-appointed Havas Group Indonesia as its creative agency partner following a pitch. The agency will handle ATL, support the brand's social media strategy and be responsible for crafting ideas and strategies to strengthen brand awareness and relevance among the target audience.

Supercars appointed Innocean Australia as its creative partner. The agency will work across the brand and the Virgin Australia Supercars Championships, addressing the Australian and New Zealand audiences.

Cosmetics brand Faces Canada appointed GroupM agency Essence to handle its integrated media duties in India. Led out of Delhi, the account includes media planning, media investment, media activation, content and e-commerce. The brand entered the India market in 2009 and its products are available in more than 140 cities and towns, as well as e-commerce sites such as Nykaa, Amazon and Flipkart.

Mindshare has been appointed as the integrated media agency for Kimberly-Clark in Malaysia, responsible for media planning, buying, content marketing and SEO. The mandate covers Kimberly-Clark brands in Malaysia including Kleenex, Huggies, Kotex, Poise and Depend. Mindshare led a WPP talent-first approach for Kimberly-Clark and will now drive the integration of services for the client across WPP agencies’ and capabilities.

Budweiser China has appointed 72andSunny Singapore as its brand partner for two of its premium beers following a competitive, multi-agency pitch. The agency will now "spearhead the development of brand positioning and execute integrated campaigns for the two beers in launch markets." Campaign has requested more information on the two brands. 

Video specialist Cartelux appointed Patrick Doble to a newly created role as APAC general manager as the business expands its operations. Doble has 20 years of senior media-agency experience and spent the past eight years based in China, most recently as MD at Publicis Media’s Starcom. He has also held roles at Starcom Mediavest Group in Australia and Mindshare.

Landor Australia appointed Sam Wall as creative director. He has previous experience with Interbrand and Eight and was most recently a freelance CD working with MAUD. He has more than 16 years of experience in brand identity and design and has worked with brands including McLaren, Telstra and Eurostar.

Sydney independent This is Flow appointed Matt Papasavva as digital lead. He was previously digital media manager at Ticketek, which followed 3.5 years at Mindshare as digital business manager and associate director of FAST. He has also worked at MediaCom in digital implementation, planning and investment.

Sydney- and Auckland-based independent PR agency Sling & Stone has launched a sustainability specialisation to tackle to work with brands that are conscious about climate change. To lead the new offering, Alana Theodor has been promoted to senior account director, sustainability. Clients can expect services such as an understanding of industry trends, insights, regulations, policies and issues; connections with experts and those who can influence change such as governments, think tanks, and research organisations; and an understanding of behavioural psychology including knowledge on how to create movements and enact change. 

Singaporean social media agency Duo Studio has expanded into Kuala Lumpur, its first overseas outpost. The new office will include an influencer arm and a slate of new clients. Founder Stephanie Phua and key members from the Singapore team will be spending time in Kuala Lumpur to ensure consistent quality services across both offices. Some of the agency’s current roster of clients include BreadTalk, Toast Box, ParkRoyal Collection, American Express, Disney Southeast Asia, FNN (NutriSoy, NutriWell), and KAO Group.

BBDO appointed Jang-Yong Kim as managing director in Korea as president and CEO Seung-Hyun Chung has retired after 12 years with BBDO and a nearly four-decade career in advertising. Kim joined BBDO Korea three months ago after a decade at Cheil Worldwide, where he was executive account director and led campaigns for AmorePacific, Maeil Dairies, CJ Foodville, Dong-a Pharm, Adidas and more. Chung was with BBDO Korea since 2008, which followed seven years as president of JWT Korea. His retirement has been planned for the last 18 months. Chung's portfolio includes AmorePacific, Kodak, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Walt Disney, KFC, Unilever, and Hite.

BMF appointed Pia Chaudhuri, former creative director at 72andSunny, as group creative director. She has 15 years of experience in creative, experiential, digital, PR and social agencies, including four years at One Green Bean, where she was promoted to ECD. 

Customer engagement agency Apparent announced 15 new hires, including a creative lead and two business directors. The Sydney-based independent now has 100 full-time employees. The company has appointed James Blow as a creative lead and Candice Lombard and Sophie Bogdan as business directors. Blow joins from Noisy Beast and has worked at WhiteGrey, Ogilvy, JWT and TBWA. Lombard was most recently with R/GA where she was group account director on Telstra. She has also worked at Cummins & Partners, M&C Saatchi, BWM and Moon Communications. Bogdan joins from not-for-profit creative agency Pareto and has worked at AnalogFolk and BWM. Other new hires include six further appointments in account management roles, in addition to media planner, media buyer, executive producer and senior planner.

Singapore-based blockchain platform Zilliqa appointed Colin JG Miles as head of marketing. He was previously vice president of global marketing and sales at Minimob, a mobile performance advertising platform, and held the same role at InternetQ, a provider of mobile, social and app-driven marketing solutions. He is also chair emeritus of Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) Asia, having led the industry association for four years, and is also a board director of blockchain-related companies NextID and AdStamp.

CleverTap, which bills itself as an AI-powered customer lifecycle and user retention platform, appointed Julie Simon as vice president of marketing for Asia-Pacific, a newly created role. She will lead all aspects of marketing for APAC, including go-to-market strategy, digital marketing, partner marketing, and branding and awareness programs. Most recently, Simon served as APAC head of marketing for Temenos, and has previously held marketing roles at Quadient and Neopost. CleverTap is following an "aggressive global expansion strategy" following a $35 million Series C funding round led by Tiger Global Management and Sequoia India. The company says it helps digital-first brands maximize the value of their mobile apps by personalizing customer experiences using real-time behavioral data and predictive modeling.

Saatchi Propagate (formerly L&K Digital), the communication specialist agency of the Publicis Groupe, has bagged the creative and communication mandate for Harappa Education, India’s first online learning institution. With digital and social media at the core of its brand-building efforts, Saatchi Propagate will work closely with Harappa on their initiatives in the fast-growing category of professional skilling.

Flare Communications has been appointed as the PR agency partner for Starstreet Precinct, which in Wan Chai, Hong Kong - a hangout hotspot filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, boutique shops with the fashion selections, galleries and interior design stores to offer an array of day-to-night experiences. Flare will provide strategic counsel, PR, social and influencer integrated services to amplify brand awareness, optimise visible presence among local and international communities to build relatable and engaging content.

Update Geotarget, a provider of products and services for Local Narrowcasting, has signed on Mirum India to handle its social media marketing and media planning requirements. Mirum India will support Update Geotarget digital services across brand planning, media planning and social media management. By onboarding Mirum India for their digital mandate, Update Geotarget is aiming to expand their presence across media.

Wunderman Thompson, a creative, data and technology agency of WPP, has appointed Sandra Gin as Client Services Director in Hong Kong. Sandra brings over 15 years of experience, ranging from BBDO and FCB in Toronto to Digitas and Golin in Hong Kong. Gin’s mandate will be driving growth for the agency’s key clients. She will report to Wunderman Thompson Hong Kong Managing Director, Matthew Parry.

Genius, which bills itself as the world’s biggest encyclopedia of music, has appointed Interplay Media as its exclusive sales partner in Australia and New Zealand. Interplay Media will manage Genius’s inventory across Australia and New Zealand, offering video, content and display digital advertising solutions, as well as offline brand activations.
