Hasbro appointed DeVries Global for an integrated marketing-communications program in Singapore, covering brands including Nerf, Transformers, Play-Doh, My Little Pony and Hasbro Gaming.

GroupM named Sameer Singh CEO of its South Asia operations. He takes over from CVL Srinivas, who has been CEO of GroupM South Asia since 2013 and will be taking on his role of country manager of WPP India. (Read more)

Dentsu Aegis Network has named Michael Zhang as CEO of Merkle &c – Media Services, effective May 2. Prior to joining Merkle &c, the media veteran of more than 20 years was CEO of Neo@Ogilvy. Zhang also held senior positions in the GroupM network at Mindshare, Maxus, and MediaCom.

Golin Jakarta has promoted Tanya Tresnasari from associate director to general manager, Jakarta. Tresnasari joined the firm in 2015 and has more than 16 years' experience in strategic communications.

Iris Singapore appointed Natalia Tan and Simone Raspagni as business directors and Cheryl Cheong as associate account director. Tan, formerly with JWT, will lead the Starbucks account, while Raspagni, formerly with 180Kingsday Amsterdam, will focus on Samsung and Lego. Cheong joins from BBH.

Jet8 promoted Shannon Cullum to CEO, effective immediately. He was previously CMO.

The One Club for Creativity appointed six creative leaders, including five from APAC markets, to its International Board of Directors:

  • Eugene Cheong, chief creative officer, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific and Singapore
  • Sonal Dabral, group chief creative officer and vice chair at Ogilvy India in Mumbai;
  • Leong Wai Foong, chairman and chief creative officer, BBDO Greater China in Shanghai;
  • Masako Okamura, executive creative officer, ASPAC, Dentsu Aegis Network in Manila;
  • Juliana Paracencio, regional CD, Memac Ogilvy & Mather, Dubai, UAE;
  • Yasuharu Sasaki, executive creative director at Dentsu Tokyo.

Valtech promoted Singapore and China managing director, Henri Petitet, to the newly created role of regional director, Asia-Pacific. He has been with Valtech for more than 24 years, including five years as the sales director of Valtech France before moving to Singapore in 2014

Nikon appointed J. Walter Thompson Hong Kong as its regional digital agency-of-record. The agency retains its duties encompassing Nikon’s corporate website, online campaigns, content creation and social media across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The reappointment also adds Singapore as a new market.

Prenetics appointed Hendrik Kühl as director of partnerships & digital in Hong Kong. In his 10-year career, he has worked with Lion & Lion, Sedgwick Richardson, and DDG.

J. Walter Thompson Asia Pacific appointed Rachna Nazir as head of talent for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore and reporting to Jacco ter Schegget, Southeast Asia CEO. In her 17-year career she has worked with Moody’s Group, McCann Worldgoup and Discovery Communications.

Wipro Consumer Care appointed OMD India for its media duties. The scope of work covers the planning and buying duties for both offline and digital channels for Yardley, Glucovita and Safewash, as well as any future product launches.

Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia appointed Dane Barr as director of the agency’s public relations and influence team as part of a restructuring. He was previously group account director at Geometry Global and will work alongside Sunita Kanapathy, who now heads the PR and influence team.
