KT reviews roster ahead of merger in Korea

The line-up for the review consists predominantly of local firms. Aside from roster incumbents Cheil, Phoenix and Welcomm Publicis, agencies vying for a portion of the account are believed to include Innocean, Oricom, Komaco, Korad, Grape, BBDO and Leo Burnett.

As South Korea’s largest fixed line and broadband provider, KT is set to merge with the wireless unit KTF in May. The move is reportedly intended to increase competitiveness with rivals such as SK Telecom by offering bundled services.

Formal pitching is due to take place next week.
