Durex outdoor stunt tackles embarrassment

SINGAPORE - Ogilvy RedCard has launched an outdoor guerrilla stunt in Singapore for Durex to drive traffic to the condom manufacturer's online store.

Durex outdoor stunt tackles embarrassment
To remove the stigma from buying adult toys, a group of models with paper bags over their heads were sent out last Friday afternoon to the Central Business District to hand out promotional materials to passers-by.

Paul Anderson, ECD at Ogilvy RedCard Singapore, said, “Research showed that one of the biggest obstacles stopping people from buying adult toys is embarrassment.”

“They’re afraid to be seen going into or coming out of an adult store where they might run into somebody they know, even being seen by total strangers was a concern. The goal here is to tell people that with Durex, they could buy adult toys anonymously - without the fear of embarrassment.”

The stunt is slated to run in early September as well.
