Dentsu opens sports marketing agency in Singapore

SINGAPORE – Dentsu has expanded its regional presence with the opening of a sports marketing consultancy, Dentsu Sports Asia, in Singapore.

According to a statement from Dentsu, the company will collaborate with existing companies within the network to develop new sports business opportunities and market the rights to international sports events in Asia.

These events are expected to include the Asian Games, the East Asian Football Championship, the FINA World Championships and the IAAF World Championships in Athletics.

The company plans to bid for further international sporting events held in Asia and develop new sports content.

Operations will also include athlete endorsement, production of TV programming and development and marketing of related hospitality programmes.

The company will be headed by Kiyoshi Nakamura and Kunihito Morimura as president and CEO and COO respectively. Dentsu Sports also has a presence in Europe and the US.
