Cohn & Wolfe expands in Southeast Asia with XPR acquisition

SINGAPORE - The PR agency under WPP group's Cohn & Wolfe has acquired independent PR agency XPR. The deal, which follows the acquisition of ImpactAsia in Greater China establishes the agency's presence in Asia-Pacific.

Digital-centric PR agency XPR counts among its clients Barclays, BMW Asia, Groupon and Motorola Mobility. Seventy-five percent of XPR’s accounts integrate digital and social media elements, with social media retainers accounting for over a third of group revenues in 2011.

The agency, now Cohn & Wolfe XPR, will be lead by Karen Ho, Gavin Foo and Adrian Lee, who will be Group Managing Directors, reporting to Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe. The team of 28 employees and will add Cohn & Wolfe's network, which includes Indonesia, to XPR's Singapore and Malaysian offices.

The deal is part of Cohn & Wolfe’s strategic priority to expand its footprint in the Asia Pacific region.
