HP is believed to have called a global pitch for its search business late last year. Executives at ZenithOptimedia did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Omnicom Media Group’s PHD handles HP’s media account across its four divisions: Corporate, Personal Systems Group (PSG), Technology Solutions Group (TSG) and Image and Printing Group (IPG). OMG's appointment in 2009 brought to an end ZenithOptimedia’s then five-year relationship with HP.

PHD also took part in the recent pitch proceedings.

Asia accounts for a third of HP’s US$ 1 billion in advertising spend.
