Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai wins Chrysler and Dodge's creative accounts in China

SHANGHAI - Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai has scooped the creative advertising accounts for Chrysler and Dodge SUV in China following a five-way pitch that also included Leo Burnett and Lintas.

Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai wins Chrysler and Dodge's creative accounts in China
The review kicked-off last November following a global decision by Chrysler to move away from their alignment with the incumbent agency BBDO. The account will be led from Saatchi & Saatchi's Shanghai office.

“We are very excited by this partnership - Chrysler have a very clear vision for what they want to achieve in China with the kind of challenging objectives that we relish,” said Justin Billingsley, CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Greater China. “Our task is to help them achieve their goals in China. We will be working closely with our sister agency Fallon in the US, where they recently secured the North America account, to ensure we are optimising the global Chrysler brand for the world's fastest growing automotive market."

Chrysler is one of the largest car manufacturers globally and is seeking to rapidly build its presence in China to compete with the likes of Buick, Volkswagen and General Motors.

Saatchi started work on the first campaign last week.

Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing is the agency of record for Lexus.

Although Chrysler was one of the first foreign automakers to enter China in the early 80s, it has struggled to make an impact.
