The app was launched coinciding with the release of the firm’s Global Salary Survey. This is the 12th edition of the survey, providing an in-depth analysis of salaries earned by both permanent and contract workers across a range of industries globally. Sectors that are covered include sales and marketing, banking, accounting and finance, legal, HR, IT, and commerce and industry.

Drawing on information from the report, the Instant Salary Checker App contains a database of salaries and contract rates according to role and sector. Through GPS technology, the app automatically recognises the user’s location who can then select their professional discipline and job title to generate their current market rate.

In addition, the app provides a history of how the rates have changed over the past two years and enables users to register for Robert Walters' quarterly updates.

Users can also find out their worth in other countries by comparing global salary rates. For instance, marketing managers would instantly be able to see that they are worth US$64,400 to US$96,500 in London, US$62,700 to US$78,800 in Singapore, and US$62,700 to US$93,300 in Auckland.

“People often wonder whether they are paid market rate but our innovative new app – containing data for thousands of jobs globally – means they can find out instantly,” noted Matthew Bennett, managing director of Robert Walters Hong Kong.

Robert Walters has a network of 43 offices in 20 locations including the US, Australia, South Africa, Brazil and Asia.
