Munchy's teams with media groups to back TV show

KUALA LUMPUR - The Munchy's Group, one of Malaysia's biggest food manufacturers, in collaboration with ntv7, The Star newspaper, entertainment distributor Juita Viden and Omnicom Media Group (OMG), has sponsored the launch of a TV investigative drama series.

Titled Frontpage, the television series makes its primetime debut on 7 September and is centred on a fictional news team. It draws its themes from headline-grabbing stories from The Star newspaper over the past 37 years.

Frontpage features an all-Malaysian cast. Predominantly in English and Malay, parts of certain episodes include dialogue in Cantonese, Hokkien and Tamil.

Datuk Anthony Bujang, CEO of ntv7, commented: “It’s rare to have media conglomerates - print and electronic - collaborate and produce a television series for their readers and viewers respectively.”

Andreas Vogiatzakis, MD of OMG Malaysia, added: “Frontpage goes beyond the mechanics of a simple sponsorship and it enables the brand to connect with the consumer, activate a meaningful dialogue and create true engagement in a meaningful and relevant way.”
