Ebiquity has named Ruben Schreurs as director and chief executive, effective immediately. He replaces Nick Waters, who is returning to the agency sector.

With over three decades of leadership experience in media agency networks, Waters is well-versed in the media landscape. Before joining Ebiquity, he spent a decade at Dentsu Aegis Network serving as CEO of Asia-Pacific for nine years before transitioning to executive chairman for the UK and Ireland in 2019, a role he held until his departure in December of that year.

Waters will remain with the business until 31 January 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.

Schreurs has been promoted from chief strategy officer at the media investment analysis company. He joined Ebiquity in 2020 as chief product officer when it acquired digital media monitoring company, Digital Decisions, of which Schreurs was founder and chief executive.

Rob Woodward, Ebiquity's chair, thanked Waters for his "commitment and leadership." Of Schreurs, he said: “Ruben’s entrepreneurial background, strategic insight and commitment to client success make him ideally suited to lead the next phase of Ebiquity’s development.”

Schreurs currently holds just over 7% of the company’s voting rights and has more than 9.5 million ordinary shares.

He said it was a “great privilege” to be appointed to the role and that the company was on the “cusp of transformative growth opportunities”. He added that he was looking forward to scaling solutions and deepening client relationships.
