DDB Singapore, India dominate first of Spikes Asia 2010 shortlists

ASIA-PACIFIC - India and DDB Singapore are the two stand out performers in the first of the Spikes Asia 2010 shortlists released today for the Outdoor, Direct & Sales Promotion, Print, Media, Design, Digital and Radio categories.

Spikes Asia has released the shortlist for the Design, Radio, Digital, Print, Outdoor, Direct and Media categories.

Out of a total of 3,058 entries received across all categories, 67 were shortlisted for Outdoor. The direct category sees the same amount of shortlisted entries, followed by Media with 60, Print with 55 (out of 473 shortlisted), Digital with 54, Design with 40 and Radio with 19.

DDB leads the charge with the highest amount of shortlisted entries with its office in Singapore accounting for 20 of the 54 shortlisted entries. The agency’s campaigns for Bose’s Noise-Cancelling Headphones and Penguin Books Singapore’s Rough Guides stand out as a favourite among the judges.

Leo Burnett follows closely with 46 entries of which 16 is out of its office in Hong Kong. Here it is the agency’s work for Zoo Records that accounts for most of the shortlisted entries.

Other offices that stand out are Dentsu Tokyo, Colenso BBDO Auckland, DDB Auckland, McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong, JWT Mumbai and Taproot India Mumbai.

India leads with the most shortlisted entries at 61, followed by Japan with 58, Australia with 45, Hong Kong with 43, Singapore with 40, New Zealand with 33, China with 26, Thailand with 25, The Philippines with 11, Indonesia with 9, Malaysia with 6 and Korea with 4.

The TV/ Cinema, Integrated, Print Craft and TV/ Cinema Craft shortlist will be released tomorrow.
