Cheil India fills top position

NEW DELHI - Cheil Worlwide has filled its long vacant India COO spot by snaring Bates executive VP Alok Agrawal (pictured).

Agrawal will be responsible for managing the entire operations of the agency including advertising, BTL, media, OOH and planning. "The immediate objective is to consolidate the rapidly expanding business of the agency, improve infrastructure and build local competence of the agency with better talent," said Agrawal. He added that the agency infrastructure would be expanded beyond Delhi to set up representation across Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

The agency has also hired Krishan Kant, Solutions Digitas' business director for FMCG, to head all its Indian BTL initiatives. Kant replaces Jake Huh, who has moved back to Seoul.

Kant's remit includes consolidation of the existing business in the retail, CRM, shopper marketing and activation areas as well as providing a more cohesive and integrated planning approach. Kant was previously with UCP, a specialist DM agency, where he managed the Airtel account. He has also worked with Draft, Wunderman and TBWA.
