Burson-Marsteller ventures into Vietnam

Burson-Marsteller will take a majority stake, along with local partner Chu Thi Company, in the joint-venture company, to be called Burson-Marsteller Vietnam.

Chu Thi is the creator the first-ever daily talk shows airing on official government national television channels in Vietnam. The JV is still subject to regulatory approval.

The venture is part of WPP's strategy of developing its network in fast-growing markets and sectors. Goldman Sachs has identified Vietnam as one of the next 11 economies to watch, with a population of 87 million and a GDP growth rate of 5.9 per cent.

Chu Thi Co founder Chu Thi Hong Anh has been associated with WPP since 1995 and has served as chairman of JWT and Mindshare in Vietnam.
