David Hunt, general manager of AKQA China, commented that "the broad range of phenomenal talent" joining the digital agency is a reflection of the agency’s robust growth in the mainland.
In account management, Lydia Chen (pictured right) joins AKQA from SapientNitro to work on Unilever's Lipton account. Chen started as senior account director last week. She reports to Melinda Po, group account director.
Prior to SapientNitro, she was associate account director at Publicis China for a year and also spent four years at TBWA China from 2004 to 2008, where she worked with Hunt when he was managing director there.
AKQA also strengthened its client service team with the appointments of Henrike Klug as account manager, Luna Dong as project manager, and Cassie Dai and Lloyd Wang as senior account executives.
In the creative department, Tian Huang (pictured left) has come on board as of yesterday as associate creative director, reporting to Johan Vakidis, executive creative director. Huang moved to Shanghai from Iris Worldwide in London, where she spent the last five years honing her skills as a senior art director.
Huang’s appointment also coincides with the arrival of Shell Ni as producer and Bruce Ji as associate designer.
