Ken Hoskin joins McCann Worldgroup as regional chief talent officer

SINGAPORE - Ken Hoskin is to leave Ogilvy & Mather, where he is currently regional talent director for Asia-Pacific, to take up a newly created role at McCann Worldgroup.

Hoskin will be relocating from Hong Kong to Singapore and is expected to start his new role in early August. He will be responsible for all of McCann's offices across Asia-Pacific and will report to Charles Cadell, president Asia-Pacific for McCann Worldgroup and Joe Kelly, global talent director based in New York.

"This is part of McCann Worldgroup's transformational journey," explained Cadell in an interview with Campaign. "We've been going at speed ensuring that we have the right new management team across Asia-Pacific, a goal we've wholly achieved. Now it comes down to ensuring we have complete focus on our talent."

Hoskin has over a decade of experience in the field of HR and talent management. He first joined Ogilvy in 2005 as people development manager for Ogilvy Japan before moving on to his current role in 2008. 

"[Hoskin] is highly regarded in Asia-Pacific and has a lot of experience. He also understands the strategic value of having a strong talent focus in operations," added Cadell. 

Hoskin will be focusing on recruiting senior and middle management, refining tolls programmes and processes the network has in place and ensuring that the "best and brightest" thrive. 

"We’ve got a transformational story, across the region bring on board some of the best talent. We’re only looking for the best people. We have been shopping, and we’ll continue to do so," said Cadell. 

At Ogilvy, Hoskin's place will be filled by Sue Oliver, currently regional director of talent development Asia-Pacific. She has been promoted to chief talent officer Asia-Paficic and will have overall responsibility for both the region’s recruitment and talent development. 

"Hoskin has been with Ogilvy for over seven years and in that time has supported our business growth across the region through strong recruitment and Asian knowledge,” said Paul Heath, chief executive officer, Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific. “We will miss Ken and wish him all the best for the future.”
