Photos: TBWA HK mentors eight startups in branding and marketing

TBWA Hong Kong mentored eight startups (29th Century, Archiparti, ShopLovers, Latticespace, Steel Available, Swatchcloud, TingPark and Trusu) in a four-hour workshop on 1 July, in partnership with the Blueprint accelerator program by Swire Properties Group.

TBWA Hong Kong's Jan Cho, general manager, and Terence Ling, head of strategy, led the mentorship, while Tinley Wong, senior account manager, Dragon Zhang, content strategist, and Rochelle Wang, senior strategic planner, also ran segments of the mentoring workshop.

“We’re offering our services to Blueprint as their default creative marketing services provider,” said Cho. “Both to the startups and Blueprint itself,” he added.

Michelle Buultjens, head of brand strategy and communications at Blueprint, said that many startups find it challenging to communicate the values of their brands with a holistic marketing strategy.

Topics covered in the workshop included how a belief can spark a brand, how to connect a brand with customers, how to use a brand framework to discover the ‘what, how, why’ of a brand, and how to plan content programming strategies and distribution tactics across platforms.
