The win comes less than a year after ZenithOptimedia (ZO) set up a stand-alone operation in Korea, having previously partnered with Publicis Welcomm in that market.

It is understood the Nestlé account went to pitch, with ZO beating the incumbent agency Dentsu. Dentsu still handles Nestlé's creative account in Korea.

ZenithOptimedia Korea was established in January 2011, and is headed up by Jessica Lee who joined from Cheil at that time. The new office was set up to provide leading local and global multinational clients in Korea with communications planning, digital strategy and implementation, SEM and media buying services.

Korea is the fourth-largest market for media expenditure in Asia-Pacific.
