Young was most recently the senior press officer for beauty at Harrods in London. With 10 years of experience in luxury PR in both agency and in-house roles, she has worked with clients from the beauty, fashion and lifestyle industries to create campaigns, events and celebrity appearances.

She is tasked to work across AKA’s portfolio of international clients, include Diageo, AYANA Resort & Spa Bali, B.P. De Silva and Anne Fontaine.

Thompson, meanwhile, joins from M:Communications, where she was a founding member of the international healthcare team. She was also previously a consultant at FTI Consulting in London.

She is responsible for reinforcing the team’s growing corporate and financial communications offering, and will initially work with Diageo and the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to provide counsel on corporate and media relations.

“They are both tremendous assets to the team, providing guidance and strategic counsel to help us broaden our skill set to respond quickly to the evolving needs of our clients,” Kate O’Shea, director and partner of AKA Asia, said.
