Octagon appoints Nancy Tao as vice-president for China

BEIJING - Sports and entertainment marketing agency Octagon has appointed Nancy Tao as vice-president for China. Based in Beijing, she will report to Greater China managing director Winston Zheng.

Tao will lead major projects for clients such as Mastercard and Konica Minolta, as well as Octagon PR and marketing initiatives. She will also contribute to the senior management team in China, focusing on new business development.

“Tao brings with her an impressive record of success in public relations, event management, strategic marketing and communications,” said Zheng. “With a career spanning more than 20 years and experience working with clients across a variety of sectors in both the US and Asia-Pacific, I am confident that she will be an invaluable asset to the Octagon China team.”

Previously, Tao was programme manager for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and provided consultation for a sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Her clients have included Coca-Cola, NBC and Nike.

Most recently, she led corporate marketing programmes for Asia-based global initiatives at Accenture.
