MEC retunes China management

SHANGHAI - MEC Shanghai MD Sweetian Ang (pictured) is to move to the agency's Australian operation as executive director of strategy.

MEC retunes China management
He is succeeded by Sara Si, who was the general manager of GroupM’s knowledge centre.

Ang spent three years in the managing director’s chair, but has been with the group for more than nine years.

Si’s hire follows the arrival as Pauline Chu as MD of MEC’s Colgate media division in Guangzhou. Both report to Bertilla Teo, CEO China and North Asia of MEC.

"After nearly 20 years in the media industry, Chu also has an incredible range of experience and skills to bring to MEC," said Bertilla. "She has great digital acumen and her experience across retail and FMCG accounts will bring new ideas and approaches to Colgate-Palmolive and Hawley and Hazel."

China is one of MEC’s fastest growing markets, with wins in recent years that include Sony Electronics, Lane Crawford, Wrigleys and Colgate Palmolive.
