SINGAPORE - The Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) has hired Fleishman-Hillard as PR agency to promote a more gracious and kind Singapore this year, adding to a growing portfolio of public affairs assignments for the communications firm.

Following the appointment of DDB as creative agency in December 2008, SKM is embarking on a large-scale awareness movement as part of a longer-term strategy to foster a more gracious society, as the Lion City looks forward to welcome more visitors in the next few years.

“We will gear up and promote this Movement for a more gracious Singapore with Project Gracious in 2009 through specific programmes targeted at five sectors – home, school, workplace, neighbourhood and visitors.” Said Teh Thien Yew, general manager of Singapore Kindness Movement.

Fleishman-Hillard has also been appointment by the Ministry of Community, Youth & Sports (MCYS) to head publicity for its Marriage Central campaign, a brief that was also awarded to Tribal DDB and PHD.

In addition, Fleishman-Hillard is charged with publicity for Singapore Mozaic, an industry initiative and global trade fair for the furnishing sector, which is supported by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and SPRING Singapore.

“Fleishman-Hillard Singapore has been steadily growing a solid government/public sector portfolio based on our creativity and strategic expertise in healthcare, business-to-business communications and stakeholder relations. We have developed better understanding and built up a base of experienced consultants who work well with government clients,” said Tham Kok Wing, managing director, senior vice president and senior partner, Fleishman-Hillard Southeast Asia.
