SHANGHAI - Shanghai General Motors (SGM) has called a creative pitch for its Chevrolet Cruze model.

Chevrolet calls creative pitch for Cruze in China

A source within a 4A agency that received the pitch invitation but declined to join said the pitch will be held on 25 February.

Another agency source close to the account said that many agencies have been invited, as GM is one of the "prestige clients in town”.

Shanghai GM's brands include Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet. Buick's creative work belonged to Bates until Lowe China won the accounts for the Encore SUV last August and the Excelle sedan in Q4. Meanwhile Publicis won the account for the high-end La Crosse. All Cadillac and Chevrolet accounts currently belong to McCann.

Campaign Asia-Pacific contacted McCann China, but the agency declined to comment.
