Cheil appoints Jordan Waid as global ECD for MD Lab

MUNICH - Inferno London's Jordan Waid has joined Cheil Worldwide's design house Mind Design Laboratory (MD Lab) as executive creative director.

Based in Munich, Waid's role will span the globe for MD Lab's clients, which include Samsung and Chevrolet. The agency provides brand experience services, particularly at international events such as the Consumer Electronics Show, CeBit and auto shows around the world. 

Waid said he will be tasked with expanding the agency's creative capabilities with the goal of being able to offer "original communication solutions that are media-agnostic and work through any and all communication channels, further enhanced by a strong social media strategy". 

In his most recent role, Waid was creative director with Inferno London and prior to that was creative director for independent creative agency Imagination. His client portfolio includes SAB Miller, Nokia and Ford of Europe, and he brings with him expertise in the area of brand experience and its relation to advertising. 

"With a unique background of design, media, and filmmaking, [Waid's] professional career covers a wide range of brand experience from architecture, film and digital, to graphic, retail and advertising," said Jaesan Kim, head of brand experience group at Cheil Worldwide. "I am confident Jordan will bring valuable experience and expertise to our team and ultimately to our clients."
