In what would be known as the shortest turnaround time to select a creative agency, Amway has appointed O&M as the creative agency-of-record for all its brands in Thailand.

Punnee Chaiyakul, chairman of O&M, informed Campaign that Amway launched the pitch on 30 November and selected the agency shortly afterwards, on 2 December. The account was held by incumbent Y&R and subsidiary Monday for the past 13 years.

“They are really wonderful clients and we are really pleased that they chose us," said Chaiyakul. "That was in a way a motivation for us as we worked on the assignment for the selection."

Amway's pitch process is a standard bi-annual process and for the past three years O&M was not invited. This year, Amway invited four agencies, including Y&R, McCann, Lowe and O&M.

Y&R CEO Sanjay Bhasin said, "They have been wonderful clients to work with and we have enjoyed a good relationship with them. In the past 13 years, we have helped develop their brand to be one of the leading brands in Thailand."

He added, "This gives us the encouragement to return to their doorstep in two years' time when they will relaunch the pitch. We wish them nothing but the very best."
