Catch up on past people moves and business wins

Sanne Drogtrop's new role is now the executive producer and head of production at Dutch company MediaMonks' Shanghai outpost after one and a half years at Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai as head of integrated production. Much of her 15 years of of experience in the production industry was gained at Dutch firms like 72andSunny, Minivegas, Blast Radius.

Wavemaker Singapore hired Bridget Luis as account director. She joined the global client solutions team and has a decade of experience in the industry, working at agencies such as Atomic 212, Havas and Possible. 

The South Australian government appointed Reprise to its media panel, following a competitive pitch. Reprise worked in partnership with IPG sister agency UM to secure the appointment, which begins on 31 March. 

Jeff Wen has left his role as deputy general manager at MRM//McCann Taipei to join Dentsu One Taipei as vice president and chief digital officer. Wen has over 15 years of work experience gained from top digital and CRM agencies in Taiwan including OgilvyOne and Wunderman.

Timothee Semelin is promoted to global senior director of digital marketing and transformation at Rosewood Hotel Group, based in Hong Kong. After a year and a half leading digital strategy within the hotel group's four brands, he continues to head a team of digital marketing experts and is in charge of e-commerce revenue.

McCann Worldgroup Philippines promoted Joe Dy, to chief creative officer. He has been with the agency as ECD since 2015 and is a highly awarded creative whose wins cover a range of disciplines including digital, film, radio, outdoor, media, print, direct response, design and effectiveness. He is also a member of the McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific Creative Leadership Council.

Fast food restaurant A&W Malaysia hired GO Communications as its PR partner. The brand is looking to re-establish itself in the market through a series of communications initiatives. 

GroupM agency Essence announced it was named integrated media agency of record for online higher education platform UpGrad in India, following a pitch. The agency’s scope of work spans both offline and digital media. Led out of Essence’s office in Mumbai, the account will be supported by key practice leads across communications strategy, data strategy, client analytics, experience, media planning, media activation and advertising operations.

OMD China has won Amway’s media planning mandate and will service the account with a dedicated team out of OMD’s Guangzhou office. The scope of work covers Amway's product ranges in nutrition, beauty, home care, sports and fitness beverages.

FCB Group Malaysia announced the addition of Kronenbourg, Asahi and Levi’s to its roster of clients. The agency was appointed by Carlsberg Malaysia to take creative duties for Asahi in late 2018, with the first work set to debut in the second quarter. The Kronenbourg business was landed in January, and the agency has launched the brand’s 1664 Blanc Valentine’s Day Campaign. FCB will also handle social-media duties for Asahi and Kronenbourg. A Levi’s project for Malaysia and Indonesia is scheduled for release later this year.

Martech company FreakOut opened in South Korea and appointed Sangjae Lee as country manager there. Lee, who has more than 20 years of experience in business development and marketing, was previously country director in Korea with App Annie. Earlier, he held senior roles at ecommerce platform 11st, Yahoo, and Naver.

VCCP Singapore appointed Andrew Hook as regional executive creative director. He was most recently with Havas and also has experience in New Zealand and across Asia, at Generator, Batey, and DDB.

Tokyo-based startup Sansan has named Mindshare's performance marketing agency network Neo as its agency of record, effective February 2019. Neo will handle media investment, planning, and management for Sansan and its portfolio of cloud-based contact management tools. Sansan has received over USD$100 million in funding, most recently from investors like Japan Post Capital, T. Rowe Price and others. 

Digital brand agency Bonsey Jaden has appointed Ibi Szentirmay as general manager of its Vietnam office to build its portfolio and presence across Vietnam. Prior to this, Szentirmay led healthcare divisions within a number of top agencies in Thailand (McCann Health, Havas Life) and Australia (Ogilvy Healthworld). 

The 4As Singapore announced that David Haddad, CEO of IPG Mediabrands Singapore, will serve as chairperson for the Singapore Media Awards (SMA) 2019. Haddad revealed the theme for 2019 edition of the awards will be ‘This is media!', meant to encourage agencies to enter campaigns that "truly encapsulate the craft of media, and exactly what media can achieve for clients by positively shifting marketing and business results".

BigCommerce, an SaaS ecommerce platform, appointed Dene Schonknecht as its first director in Asia, based in the company's newly opened office in Singapore. The company recently announced new agency partners CLEARgo, MoniMedia and Kemana, which join existing regional partners including SILK Software and Lister Technologies. Schonknecht will focus on expanding adding new customers to join existing brands such as Isetan and Resmed, as well as developing partnerships with ecommerce designers, development agencies and technology providers.

Indonesian dairy brand Greenfields appointed TBWA Indonesia as communication partner to manage its milk and yoghurt portfolio. In addition to sales in Indonesia, the brand exports to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Philippines.

Ohmyhome, a property technology platform in Singapore, appointed Publicis Groupe agencies Publicis Singapore and Performics Singapore as the agencies of record for its digital marketing, social media and advertising duties, following a competitive pitch in January. Publicis and Performics will undertake both strategic and execution duties to support the master brand in Singapore and expand its presence in the region. The scope of responsibility includes brand communications through-the-line as well as media strategy and implementation. 

BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), announced its appointment as agency of record for Converse in Hong Kong. BCW will manage public relations and integrated communications strategy and will focus on building buzz around the company’s brand and product lines, including producing creative content and experiential activations.

Fund management media specialist Fundamental Media has acquired Hooplot Associates, a boutique marketing consultancy firm specialising in sales, marketing and cross border distribution for asset managers. Hooplot Associates conducts industry specific research, market-entry assignments and advises international asset management firms on how to boost their distribution, marketing and sales. It will continue servicing its clients under the Fundamental Media umbrella, and founder Vincent Hooplot will join the board of directors as chief operating officer and chief strategist.
